We are a chess organization dedicated to providing core development and enriching programs through chess. Taught by experienced and nationally recognized chess masters, who share and infuse kids with a passion for the game. Our instructors have themselves played at the scholastic level and are able to share personal experiences with the new generation.

Chess & Kids is dedicated to providing an intellectually stimulating platform to kids of all ages and income levels. Countless studies have shown chess to be a great academic tool: helping kids learn better, think faster and concentrate longer. Kids with special needs such as autism and ADD and HDHD have shown remarkable ability to concentrate during the game, unlike in any other activity. Needham Chess Kids is the first non-profit organization of its kind in MA. Our students successfully participate in local and National tournaments, win awards such as trophies and medals, but most importantly build real life skills and boost confidence. One of our goals is to make sure kids use chess as a tool to perform better academically, socially and go on to college.
OUR MISSION
Chess & Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving academic performance and building self-esteem by expanding Chess education for elementary and middle school kids. The Chess & Kids' philosophy is that Chess helps students develop important life skills that are useful both inside and outside the classroom. These skills include planning, goal setting, spatial awareness, sportsmanship, critical thinking, and more. The goal of Chess & Kids is to build champions in the classroom and the community.

EMPLOYMENT
NOW HIRING: PARTTIME INSTRUCTOR
Chess & Kids is seeking a motivated individual to teach chess in local schools, boys' and girls' clubs, and other educational settings, for up to ten hours per week. Make a difference in the lives of kids, while teaching a game you enjoy. This is a great opportunity for students or anyone with free time in the afternoons.
Chess & Kids is an educational nonprofit organization located in Boston. The mission of the Chess & Kids is to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess, and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships, in an effort to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.

WHY CHESS
Kids love chess because of its strategic and tactical intricacies and its competitive nature. Kids love playing, competing and making new friends who share the passion for the game.
Countless studies have shown chess to be a great academic tool: helping kids learn better, think faster and concentrate longer. Kids with special needs such as autism and ADD and HDHD have shown remarkable ability to concentrate during the game, unlike in any other activity.
Things that you learn in chess are applicable in every day life, calculating and decision making, anticipating your opponents moves, pattern recognition and visualization as well as memory training are just some of the skills that chess is known to sharpen.
Kids will develop confidence and build self-esteem by competing in chess tournaments . By participating in local and national tournaments they will gain experience, travel and meet kids and famous chess players from all across U.S.
